| Looking forward to it, Choco! Kekeh... I'm very much a huge Bomberman fan myself - it's strangely satisfying to see all your enemies blow up so cartoonishly. So I can't wait to see how someone else does the game.
A long time ago, I was thinking of making my own Bomberman clone, but I planned to add my own spin to it. I even came up with a title - Burned - and tagline - "If you play with fire, you're gonna get Burned". Somehow, though, I never got around to putting the plans into action... but enough about that.
I wish you well in your project. I like your Power-up graphics, by the way - they're quite stylish. I can see you basically only updated the original graphics, but you've done it really professionally, and that's what counts. | |

Thanks for the encouragement ^_^ editing is something I'm good at, I don't have the artistic skill to actually make things like that from scratch And your game sounds like it would've been a lot of fun
I actually just hope i do it justice in the end, since I'm a big fan of it as well, obviously , and since a lot of this is first time stuff for me, it'll be hard to get it how i want but at least it'll be fun. | |

| That's a pretty sizeable collection. I personally have the original NES Bomberman, Wario Blast Featuring Bomberman (which was in fact based on the Japanese Bomberman GB game and so therefore DOES count as a main-series Bomberman game), Bomberman X (which was for the PC and is quite cool, though I seem to have lost it now...) and Bomberman Blast, so probably not as impressive a collection as yours.
I also have a ROM of Bomber Boy, a Game Boy game that isn't recognised as a Bomberman game outside of Japan because the international versions of it were renamed (the US version was called Atomic Punk, for example) and had the main character's look changed; although the game is otherwise the same in all countries. However, I found the original Japanese version a while back, and it's my absolute favourite game. It has a port of the original NES Bomberman, and a whole new Bomber Boy game which mixes an RPG element into the fray and is really cool. I am addicted to it even now. Bomberman Blast is a close second although its single-player is very much lacking. | |

| Well, there was gonna be a video on here today, Epic Loser! noooooooooo it had to go being a tool about it >_>
Anyway, i'll just have to state the progress until monday
1) edge of the map bounding done, so you can't leave the game area acidentally 2) character movement done, no more pesky 8 directional movement 3) very basic enemy AI, so they'll actually chase you - still needs a bit of work so this only happens in a certain radius to the character 4) bomb placement works, just need to make the explosion happen when they dissapear. 5) The enemies now die 6) sprite changes so you now look the direction you walk in - started using this for the death animations too ^^ 7) Classes set up to support multiple enemy types and spawn locations Timed spawning - will be used for a potential unique mode, Survival mode
A few of these really caused problems, especially that damn AI >_>
Next week's focus:
1) Maps, currently just an image until we get the tutorials on how to code them 2) finish the AI 3) if the maps get done - block types 4) Enemies - spawning and multi types
Keep in mind when this is 'done', it won't be a brilliant fully finished game, it will be like a demo version with a few added features. I have only been coding since spetember (with only part of my focus on it) and DirectX since the start of this project | |

Finally got the map made, just the slight problem of the collision boxes for the solid blocks keeps pushing the map halfway across the screen >.< I'll be making the HUD and sound for it during this week as well, after that its just mainly making the gameplay properly ^^ | |
